Description
A worsted weight version of a classic Cowichan / Salish style vest. This vest is worked from the bottom up in the round and then once the sleeve area is reach it is worked back and forth for the top front and back. There is only minimal seaming at the shoulder area.
AVAILABLE SIZES:
2 (4, 6, 8) Years.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Chest: 22 (24, 28, 32) inches / 55.9 (61, 71.1, 81.3) cm
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Yarn: Worsted Weight
Shown in Loops and Threads Impeccable Solids in Grey, white and black. Feel free to substitute any worsted weight yarn as long as gauge is met, if not adjust needle size accordingly
You will need approximately 500 (600, 700, 800) yards main color and 100 yards each of the contrasting colors.
Recommended needles (check gauge and change size if needed):
· US #6 (4.00mm) DPN’s or circular needle
· US #8 (5.00mm) DPN’s or circular needle
Notions:
· Stitch markers
· Scrap yarn for holding sleeve stitches
· Blunt-ended needle or crochet hook for weaving in ends
GAUGE:
18 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches/10cm in stockinette stitch on larger needles.
